    Tropic

    Updated: Jul 22

I hope you find this information helpful as you get to know the many products that I have to offer from Tropic.

First I thought it would be useful to give you a little bit of information about how I got here.

The older I get the more I realise ‘simple’ is best and ‘simple’ makes life a lot easier!

Before I started working with Tropic I was quite unwell for some years, I was determined at that time to heal myself naturally without the use of any conventional medicine or treatments. I embarked on quite a long journey of special diets, therapies, practices and various remedies and supplements, it all took a while and not everything worked, but I got there in the end and I have to say I’ve never felt better, so the time and effort were truly worth it.

During my time of healing I had no choice but to simplify what I used on my face and body, at one stage I was covered head to toe in eczema, there was a point where I couldn’t even bare to use water on my skin, the pain from it was just too much!

I wish I had known about the Tropic Tamanu balm and Tamanu cream back then!

As I was forced to simplify my skin care products it made me realise just how much I had accumulated, a lot of what I had wasn’t natural or ethical, there was so much I didn’t use!

As with most people I had been lured into buying products with promises, products on special offer or I had kindly been given products as gifts that I knew I wouldn’t really use but I felt bad getting rid of.

Every time I went into my bathroom cupboard, or the drawer where I kept other toiletries and cosmetics it was overwhelming, there was just too much, it was a constant reminder of how much money I had spent and was wasting!

The time had finally arrived for a proper clear out. I took out every single product I owned and ruthlessly went through it all. I had a pile to keep, a pile of unused to re-gift, a pile for the charity shop or to give away and a pile for the bin.

It felt so good to finally tackle this long standing issue and what a difference it eventually made. My skincare routine became more simple and efficient, I had space once again in my cupboard and it was no longer cluttered and stressful for me to see everyday.

I held on to some products that didn’t really fit my ideal but being mindful of the money I had spent on them all I felt I needed to use them up before replacing them with kinder and more effective products, it took a little while but now there’s not a single product in my cupboard that I don’t use regularly.

I was already using the Tropic Smoothing cleanser and had been for several years, I loved it so that was a definite keeper, my moisturisers, facial oils, face masks etc.. were a mix of many different and non coherent brands, they were ok but I certainly wasn’t getting the best I could for my skin based on the amount of money I had spent. I had little or no knowledge about any of the brands who I’d bought products from and I didn’t know much about the products either!

    ree

Before joining Tropic my skincare routine was ok but I still I had too many products, most were from different brands so non of them were developed to work together, I definitely was not getting the best out of them.

I had used some Tropic products in the past but as I had been using several other brands for years, like Neals Yard, Weleda, Green people, Jurlique, Bare Minerals etc... I didn’t see the

point of adding yet another brand to the collection when I didn’t really know if it would work, and of course the cost had to be a factor too.

    ree

Fast forward to 2021, if only I had of known then what I know now...

Firstly I would have tried out many more Tropic products because of the 30 day money back guarantee, I had absolutely nothing to lose, not even the cost of return post! It’s so simple, you don’t feel the product suits you for whatever reason Tropic are happy to replace or refund it within 30 days, guaranteed!

Secondly Tropic strive to be leaders in green beauty innovation, I now know the time, care, research and quality of the ingredients that go into every Tropic product makes them something worth trying at least once.

Thirdly when it was explained to me the benefit of a simple cohesive skincare routine and it was broken down into cost where it was so transparent I was amazed, not only did I decide to try some new products I soon realised I wanted to work with Tropic too!

My point of sharing all of this is to give you a great reason to have a good clear out if that’s something you’ve been thinking of doing.. it’s to bring you awareness of how you can achieve the benefits for an effective skincare routine beginning by simplifying your products.

My routine is so easy now and something I look forward to daily, it’s just a few minutes of time for myself to invest in my skin, a little massage with my cleanser, a little patting following my toner...

    ree

... and another gentle massage with my moisturiser. My weekly mask is an excuse to have 20 minutes time out to relax and my skin has most definitely improved as a result.

If you’re time poor but would like to invest a little more care and time into your skin I really believe simplifying your skincare will save you time and give results. It could eventually save you money too and if you choose Tropic you’ll be helping to reduce the enormous environmental impact that’s created by the skincare and cosmetic industry. Tropic make it their mission to have a positive impact on everything that they do.

Using Tropic you’re also supporting many underprivileged children to go to school as well as supporting numerous other charities here in the UK and around the world.

    So where to begin...

A great place to start with an effective and simple skincare routine is the Essentials skincare collection, it covers all bases (choice of cleanser and organic bamboo cloth, choice of toner, choice of moisturiser and choice of a mask or facial exfoliator ) it’s pretty much the only skincare routine you’ll need..

Tropic describe the Essentials collection as the 5 - a - day of your skincare, plus as an added bonus this collection the face mask of your choice or facial exfoliator is free!. So what you’ll actually have is your Five a Day plus a weekly workout for the skin using the mask or scrub.

To give you an idea of what a skincare investment would look like I’ve put together a yearly use and expenditure explanation below.

If we do an 'approximate' break down, the cost of the Essentials Skincare collection from £72 and basing on usage twice a day, lasting on average up to 3 months, this amounts roughly to 85p per day, £5.90 per week and £24 per month for three months total £72.

    ree

Should you wish to go a step further and give your skin some ‘supplementation’ (much like taking your vitamins, minerals, probiotics etc. ) to add to the 5- a - day and a weekly work out, Tropic also offer The Enhanced Collection which is the Essentials collection plus a choice of any two serums or a serum and the Skin Dream super rich firming night cream.

    ree

The total cost of the Enhanced Collection from £116, broken down roughly amounts to £1.40 per day, £9.80 a week, £39 a month based on usage up to twice a day lasting on average three months.

The serums tend to last longer than three months so what I’ve recommended to some customers is to alternate between the ABC collection and the Skincare Selection approximately every three months, in I find the serums tend to last longer than three months so what I’ve recommended to some customers is to alternate between the Essentials Collection and the Enhanced Collection roughly every three months, in total for a twelve month period this would amount to approximately £380/86 for a whole year, that's everything your skin needs, this breaks down to around £1.15p per day or £8 per week and £31/32 per month.

I’ve also had a quick look at the costs for the 'basic' cleanser, toner, moisturiser and mask by a few different skincare brands, selling products equivalent to the Tropic Essentials collection £72, here's an approximate comparison, bearing in mind not all of these products are natural, organic, ethical and sustainable 🌿

The costs daily, weekly, monthly and for three months...

     Basic Neals Yard - £1 - £7 - £29 = total for 3 months £89

     Basic Clarins - £1.75 - £11.50 - £46 = total for 3 months £139

     Basic Boots No7 - £1.03 - £7.25 - £29 = total for 3 months  £87

     Clinique -  £1.38 - £9.60 - £39 = total for 3 months £116
